2026년 하반기 학위수여식 개최에 따라 다음과 같이 안내드립니다.

 

[행사개요]

 1. 일시: 2026년 8월 20일(목) 11:00 - 12:20

 2. 장소: 광주과학기술원 오룡관 대강당

 3. 대상: 학위수여대상자, 교직원, 학위수여자 가족 등 약 400여명 (학위수여대상자: 박사 64명, 석사 79명, 학사 56명, 총 199명)

 

[학위복 대여 및 반납]

 1. 일시

  - 1차: 2026. 8. 19.(수) 10:00 ~ 17:00

  - 2차: 2026. 8. 20.(목) 10:00 ~ 17:00

 2. 장소: 오룡관 206호

 

 * 대리수령 불가, 본인만 대여 가능

 * 지정된 시간 이외에는 대여가 어려우니 시간을 엄수하여 주시기 바랍니다.

 * 학위복 미반납 시, 증명서 발급 제한 등 불이익이 있을 수 있으니, 반드시 지정된 시간과 장소에 반납하여 주시기 바랍니다.

 

[학위수여 안내]

 1. 학위수여대상자는 2026. 8. 20.(목) 10:30 까지 1층 출입구로 입장

  * 반드시 좌석표를 확인하시어 본인 좌석에 착석바랍니다.

  * 지정좌석제로 진행하오니, 추후 진행되는 '참석 여부 조사'에 반드시 응답해 주시기 바랍니다.

 

 2. 학위수여 방법 (박사 → 석사 → 학사)

 * 박사: 학위수여 순서대로 단상 우측 계단 아래에서 대기 (2명씩 수여)

  → 사회자가 호명하면, 단상 위로 올라가 총장, 교학부총장 앞에 대기

  → 총장, 교학부총장께서 학위기를 수여하고 악수를 나눔

  → 단상 반대편으로 이동하면서 교원들과 악수를 나눔

  → 스태프의 안내에 따라 본인의 좌석으로 돌아가 착석

   

* 석사 및 학사: 학위수여 순서대로 단상 우측 계단 아래에서 대기 (3명씩 수여)

  → 사회자가 호명하면, 단상 위로 올라가 총장, 교학부총장, 연구부총장 앞에 대기

  → 총장, 교학부총장, 연구부총장께서 학위모의 술을 이동(우측에서 좌측)하고 악수를 나눔

  → 단상 반대편으로 이동하면서 교원들과 악수를 나눔

  → 스태프의 안내에 따라 본인의 좌석으로 돌아가 착석

[학위기 수령 방법]

 - 박사는 학위수여식에서 수령 (8. 20. (목) 오룡관 대강당)

 - 석사 및 학사는 소속 학과 사무실에서 수령 (8. 19. (수) 오후부터)

 - 불참자의 경우, 학위수여식이 종료된 이후 소속 학과 사무실에서 별도 수령

- 학위수여식 SNS 생중계 예정 (GIST 유튜브 공식채널 : https://www.youtube.com/@GIST_YOUTUBE)

- 학위수여대상자를 제외한 가족 및 재학생은 2층 출입구로 입장하여 주시기 바랍니다.

- 모든 행사가 끝나기 전까지 학위수여대상자는 퇴장이 불가합니다.

- 안전을 위하여 단상 근처에서의 사진 촬영을 금지합니다.

- 졸업증명서 발급: 2026. 8. 19.(수) 오후 3시부터 가능

Dear Degree Candidates,

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!

To prepare for a successful event, we would like to inform you of the details regarding the August 2026 Commencement Ceremony as follows.

 

[Ceremony Overview]

1. Date and Time: Thursday, August 20, 2026 / 11:00 AM – 12:20 PM

2. Location: Grand Auditorium, Oryong Hall, GIST

3. Attendees: Approximately 400 attendees, including graduating students, faculty, staff, and families

(Degree candidates: 199 total — Ph.D.: 64, Master's: 79, Bachelor's: 56)

 

[Gown Rental and Return]

1. Date and Time:

- 1st Period: Wednesday, August 19, 2026 / 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

- 2nd Period: Thursday, August 20, 2026 / 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

2. Location: Oryong Hall, Room 206

* Only degree candidates are eligible to rent (Proxy pick-up is not allowed).

* Please strictly adhere to the rental/return schedule.

* Failure to return the gown may result in disadvantages, such as restrictions on certificate issuance.

 

[Commencement Ceremony Guidelines]

1. Arrival Time: Degree candidates must enter through the 1st-floor entrance by 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

* Please check the seating chart and sit in your assigned seat.

* As seating is pre-assigned, please make sure to respond to the upcoming Attendance Survey.

 

[Degree Conferral Process: Ph.D. → Master's → Bachelor's]

 

* Ph.D.

1. Wait at the bottom of the right stairs of the stage in order (2 students at a time).

2. When your name is called, step onto the stage and stand in front of the President and the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

3. Receive your degree certificate and shake hands.

4. Move toward the opposite side of the stage, shaking hands with faculty members.

5. Follow staff guidance to return to your assigned seat.

 

* Master's & Bachelor's

1. Wait at the bottom of the right stairs of the stage in order (3 students at a time).

2. When your name is called, step onto the stage and stand in front of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice President for Research.

3. The academic cap tassel will be moved (from right to left) and hands shaken.

4. Move toward the opposite side of the stage, shaking hands with faculty members.

5. Follow staff guidance to return to your assigned seat.

 

[Diploma Distribution]

- Ph.D.: Distributed at the ceremony (Aug 20 (Thu), Oryong Hall Grand Auditorium)

- Master's & Bachelor's: Distributed at your respective department offices (Starting from the afternoon of Aug 19 (Wed))

- Absentee Pick-up: Graduates unable to attend may collect their diplomas from their department office after the ceremony.

- Corrections: If there are any errors on your diploma, please contact the Student Affairs Team (Ext. 3607).

- Live Streaming: GIST Official YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/@GIST_YOUTUBE)

- Guests & Students: Family members and current students (non-graduates) must enter through the 2nd-floor entrance.

- Attendance: Degree candidates are not allowed to leave until the end of the ceremony.

- Safety Rules: Taking photos near the stage is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.

- Certificate of Graduation Issuance: Available from 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
