Below is an abstract of the talk:
Biomedical signals, including electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), and electrooculogram (EOG), can be employed to implement diverse human-computer interfaces (HCIs) and digital healthcare applications. These interfaces range from silent speech interfaces (SSIs) and control interfaces for XR devices to EEG-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). Computational intelligence and neural engineering (CoNE) laboratory at Hanyang University has developed several practical HCI applications based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This presentation will showcase their notable projects, such as 3-axis accelerometer-based SSI, EMG-based facial expression recognition, EEG-based BCI for controlling home appliances, AI-based diagnosis of psychiatric disorders, and biosignal-based HCIs for metaverse applications.
