GIST supports student cooperation and student clubs.

We support character building through student-led government and club activities so that students can develop a spirit of cooperation and be equipped with the qualities and competencies to become future leaders of society.

Group Activity

Repuirement

  • Appoint an advisor to organize a group
  • Purpose and scope must cover all students
  • Must have at least 10 regular members

Approval

  • Group is recognized from the date approved by GIST
  • Financial aid is provided

Condition

  • Unregistered groups are not permitted
  • Submit a form for group activities in and out of the school
  • Activity that harms the learning environment is not allowed
  • Activities regarding politics or political parties in and out of the school are not allowed
  • Activities that are not appropriate for students and damage reputation and/or property of the school are not allowed

Alongside personalized individual workouts, we engage in various group sports such as swimming, basketball, and badminton, aiming to foster networking among members and build consistent exercise habits.
2 거침없이 미들킥 Jokgu / Foot Volleyball kjy011019@gm.gist.ac.kr 거침없이 미들킥 is a jokgu (foot volleyball) club dedicated to regular workouts and diverse social activities. We enhance our fundamental skills and teamwork through weekly or bi-weekly practice sessions, while actively participating in friendly matches with other clubs as well as on- and off-campus tournaments.
3 과기회 Religion guseo1120@gm.gist.ac.kr '과기회' hosts internal and external meetings and seminars focusing on science and religion, with reading the Bible in English as its primary activity.
4 한빛회 Religion yejoon0205@gm.gist.ac.kr 한빛회 is a Christian club where members share life's wisdom through God and the Bible, while fostering friendship and fellowship among the GIST community. Through various activities—including new semester welcoming services, summer retreats, community Bible reading, and small group meetings—we learn about faith and promote cross-cultural exchange between domestic and international members.
5 GIST Badminton Club(GBC) Badminton solsaem01@gm.gist.ac.kr We promote skill improvement through weekly training and regular matches, while also providing foundational badminton technical instruction.
6 BYOB Distilled Spirits ashfaq227@gm.gist.ac.kr We aim to explore a deep understanding and appreciation of distilled spirits, while expanding our cultural knowledge and social networks. Our primary activities include distilled spirits research and educational sessions, tasting meetups, and various cultural exchange and networking events.
7 GPS_광주발자국 furry joh9532@gm.gist.ac.kr Formed by GIST students who love furry fandom, our group shares this common hobby and hosts events in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions where local residents and children can come together and enjoy.
8 대학원지냥이 Volunteer(Cats) masca3027@gm.gist.ac.kr We manage stray cat feeding stations installed around the dormitories and systematically implement TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs. We also rescue and treat sick or injured stray cats, while actively promoting adoption to find them permanent homes.
9 하이클리어 Badminton leeyeaeun@gm.gist.ac.kr We are a club where graduate students who enjoy badminton improve their skills and build friendships through regular activities. Beyond on-campus games, we host friendly matches with other universities and external clubs, while also preparing for tournaments through structured lessons and club networking.
10 GIST Tea Party Tea kyungbae_lee@gm.gist.ac.kr We are a club where members experience and share diverse tea cultures through the medium of tea. Through group purchases and regular tasting sessions, we enjoy a wide variety of teas, while expanding our understanding of tea and fostering friendship among members through diverse activities such as tea classes, tea exhibitions, and tea plantation visits.
11 GISA (GIST International Student Association) Culture jeongminjong@gm.gist.ac.kr GISA is an organization dedicated to supporting international students at GIST and enhancing their academic and campus life experience. It serves as a communication bridge between international students and the university while helping new students adapt to life in Korea and at GIST. Through various events, awareness programs, and student support activities, GISA promotes unity and well-being within the international student community.
12 수요풋살모임 Futsal m_umar_tahir@gm.gist.ac.kr We hold regular sports sessions every Wednesday or Thursday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. We also play occasional futsal and football matches with external teams and other on-campus clubs, alongside watching online football matches and engaging in tactical discussions together.
13 CROSSOVER Basketball 100juhoon@gm.gist.ac.kr For those who love basketball, we host friendly and official basketball matches, alongside running basketball classes tailored for beginners.

15 GIST Open Tennis cyancity88@gm.gist.ac.kr We hold regular training sessions and participate in tournaments with the goals of improving physical fitness through tennis and strengthening networking among students.
16 싸이텍 Soccer kotaehyun@gm.gist.ac.kr We hold football matches at the campus football field every Monday and Friday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, while also engaging in occasional training sessions and futsal games.
17 OST Board Games hyeonchangson@gm.gist.ac.kr We introduce a wide variety of board games to students on campus, providing relaxing leisure activities and fostering friendship through board gaming.
18 NEXUS Social & Networking qkrtltm100@gm.gist.ac.kr NEXUS is a student-led organization where international and domestic students meet, connect, and grow together. Members vote each semester to select a variety of activities, including sports, creative projects, social gatherings, and gaming. The club fosters meaningful cross-cultural friendships and a vibrant community based on openness, fun, and mutual respect.
19 NTS Band juhobag12@gm.gist.ac.kr As a band for beginners, we aim to build strong bonds among graduate students while learning instruments, creating a virtuous cycle that brings a positive impact to our research. Through weekly performance practices, annual external ensembles, occasional busking shows, and informal session lessons, we relieve academic stress and foster a close-knit community.
20 노래마을 Band treskawjs123@naver.com We hold one to four performances annually, including regular concerts and collaborative shows with other clubs. Members prepare for these performances through voluntary practice sessions, while also sharing musical insights and information through regular music appreciation meetups.
21 대학생성경읽기선교회(UBF) Religion dw.kim03@gm.gist.ac.kr 대학생성경읽기선도회 was established with the purpose of teaching the Bible to graduate students at GIST. We pursue both evangelism and academic values through campus ministry meetings, 1:1 Bible studies, and campus prayer gatherings.
22 GIST Band Band daeho150@gm.gist.ac.kr We aim to strengthen bonds among current students and foster a healthy music culture through band ensembles and live performances. Through voluntary practice, we prepare and hold one to three on- and off-campus performances each year, while also deepening our understanding of music culture and sharing insights through regular music appreciation meetups.
23 GIST International Futsal Futsal aa12jj34@gm.gist.ac.kr We primarily play futsal, but occasionally transition to soccer when there is higher participation. The activity aims to relieve the stress of research life while promoting communication among researchers across different departments and fields. By discussing each other's strengths and skills, we strategize on optimal positioning to maximize team performance during games.

By hosting regular busking performances at famous nationwide landmarks and participating in festivals, we develop our musical capabilities, communicate freely with audiences, and deliver positive energy to the local community.
25 GICAS Culture (Global) setiyantohendri@gm.gist.ac.kr he club aims to raise awareness of cultures and music to promote the peaceful coexistence of humanity. It focuses on introducing traditional food and culture from various countries represented by students at GIST. Main activities include hosting traditional food parties, cultural movie screenings, discussion forums, and costume shows.
