1. Overview
a. Number of recipients: 2 students (1 Korean, 1 international)
b. Eligibility:
- Enrolled in an integrated M.S.–Ph.D. or Ph.D. program
- Admitted in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025
c. Scholarship amount: KRW 12,000,000 (KRW 1,000,000 per month × 12 months)

3. Selection Criteria
a. General: Students with outstanding academic performance and financial need (excluding GIST Presidential Fellowship recipients)
b. Korean students: Must have resident registration in Gwangju Metropolitan City or Jeonnam Province
c. International students: Must hold nationality from an Asian country (excluding India and China)
4. Required Documents
a. Scholarship Recommendation Letter (from academic advisor)
b. Certificate of Enrollment
c. Proof of Residence (Resident Registration Certificate for Koreans / Certificate of Alien Registration for internationals)
d. Consent Form for the Collection and Use of Personal Information
e. Academic Transcript
f. Additional documents regarding household income (if applicable)
5. Selection Process
a. Based on the GPA of the most recent semester (tie-breakers applied in the following
order:students not receiving external scholarships,
1) students with lower household income,
2) students with higher cumulative GPA)
b. Final decision will be made by the GIST Academic Affairs Committee.
6. Other Notes
a. Selected recipients must resubmit the Scholarship Recommendation Letter and Consent Form for the Collection and Use of Personal Information.
b. Scholarships will be discontinued and refunded in cases of leave of absence, disciplinary action, or withdrawal.
c. Participation in donor-related courtesy events is mandatory (e.g., thank-you letter, promotional video, etc.).
d. From the following year, scholarship continuation, amount, or method of disbursement may change depending on the donor foundation’s circumstances.
e. The scholarship result announcement and payment will be in November 2025. Only successful candidates will be contacted individually (unsuccessful applicants will not be notified).
