GIST Entrepreneurship Promotion Center holds Matching Day
The GIST Entrepreneurship Promotion Center in conjunction with the Gwangju Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation Center held a two-day seminar to support small and medium sized businesses that have begun operating in 2016. The seminar was held on August 16 - 17, 2016, and was attended by thirty people, including ten chief-executive officers (CEOs) from various regional companies who were matched as mentors with the other 20 participants, which also included ten students.
The first day of the two-day seminar included lectures for entrepreneurs to learn how to start and grow their businesses both domestically and internationally. The entrepreneurs were also matched with mentors to learn from their experiences and to gain valuable insights. The second day of the seminar focused on ethical business guidelines as well as resources that entrepreneurs can utilize to help manage and grow their businesses.
Director Sungkeun Ki said, "Businesses supported by GIST will continue to adhere to the highest principles of business ethics and integrity while pursuing market share and profits."
The GIST Entrepreneurship Promotion Center and Jeonnam University were selected in 2015 to provide personalized support for business entrepreneurs and was given a grant of 3 billion won for three years with the aim of creating a regional economic cooperation organization for entrepreneurs.
