GIST – Yozma Group signs MoU
GIST has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Yozma Group to promote collaboration.
On May 27, 2016, GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon and Chairman Yigal Erlich of the Yozma Group signed an MoU in the presence of 30 people at the Yozma campus in Gyeong-gi-do, Pan-gyo.
The Yozma Group began in 1993 with support from the Israeli government. They have grown to become a globally recognizable venture capital firm, which has invested in many global IT start-ups that have shown excellent growth potentials. The Hebrew word yozma means "creativity, original, entrepreneurship."
The Yozma Group has established a ‘Yozma Campus’ within the Pan-gyo start-up campus in March of 2016 and has been providing special training programs for various start-up companies.
GIST and the Yozma Group agreed to collaborate in commercializing the outcomes of GIST research results, in cooperating between GIST technology applications research team and Yozma Korea, in developing excellent researchers at GIST, and in exploring other areas of mutual interest.
GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, “GIST has actively supported entrepreneurship of our students and faculty through the Technology Commercialization Center and the Center for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship.” He also said, “Through this agreement, we expect to create even more commercial potential for GIST’s excellent research results with Yozma Group’s considerable experience in venture capitalization."
