Official Launch of GIST AOS
Official launch of the GIST Association
of Supporters (AOS) was held on April 25, 2016
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) under the leadership of President Seung Hyeon Moon held an official meeting with key personnel in Gwangju and Jeonnam to assist in the development of fund-raising activities. The meeting was held on April 25, 2016, at Oryong Hall and was the official launch of the GIST Association of Supporters (AOS), which will bolster GIST"s Development Fund with staunch supporters of GIST.
The president of GIST AOS is Hwang Sik Kim, a former prime minister, and the membership of GIST AOS includes 70 VIPs from Gwangju and Jeonnam who are committed to ensuring the continued growth and success of GIST. GIST AOS members will actively support GIST in fund-raising campaigns to increase the scientific and technical research capabilities of GIST for the development of global-minded scientists and researchers.
Hwang Sik Kim, who was appointed as the first president of GIST AOS, said, "Expansion of stable financial resources is urgently needed to allow GIST to continue with its amazing pace of scientific advances. Active community development and participation of local leaders is necessary for sustaining GIST Valley."
GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, "With the launch of the GIST Association of Supporters, we will actively communicate with the community and seek their support and encouragement to realize the full dream and potential of GIST being the absolute best science and technology oriented research school in the world!"
