retirement ceremony for Professor Do Han Kim

On February 26, 2016, the School of Life Science as the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) hosted a retirement ceremony for Professor Do Han Kim at the Multipurpose Hall that was atte), 2-26 (Fri) 11:00 am at Oryong Hall that was attended by over 100 faculty members and students.
Appointed in 1994, Professor Kim was there from the very beginning of GIST as he helped to matriculate the very first class of graduate students when they entered GIST in 1995. Over the past 22 years, Professor Kim has made significant contributions to GIST in terms of research and education. He has also served in a variety of capacities that have helped to advance science, such as the Dean of Research and Planning at GIST, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, the president of Korea"s Biophysics Society, the president of Korea"s Molecular Cell Biology Society, and numerous other positions.
During the retirement ceremony, Professor Kim donated 10 million won to the GIST Development Fund. Even in retiring, Professor Kim continues to find new ways to support and advance excellence at GIST.
Professor Kim will be sorely missed by the students and faculty of GIST.
