GIST Development Fund collects 540 million won during Sponsor"s Night
Collected funds will be used to improve human resources
and for regional planning development
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), which was recently ranked number two in the world for citations per faculty by QS World University Rankings, held a Sponsor" Night on November 19, 2015, to express gratitude for the supports and benefactors of GIST.
During the ceremony at Oryong Hall, GIST shared its future vision and significant research results with the attendees, which included important members of the Gwangju and Jeonnam area as well as GIST faculty and alumni. About 100 people were in attendance for the ceremony, which highlighted and emphasized the future vision of GIST to become a world-renowned university with exceptional global competiveness. To help realize this vision, GIST collected 540 million won from generous benefactors who share the same vision.
The Dean of International and Public Affairs, Professor Byoung Hun Lee, stated: "The contributions from Sponsor"s Night will be used by GIST to help foster local talent and human resources as well as to improve regional development. GIST has established itself as a leading science and technology university, and we will always continue to contribute to the development of the local community."
