hosts Colloquium on Climate Change Response Technology

□ The GIST International Environmental Research Center (Director Joon Ha Kim) has invited 25 Korean experts on to attend the Colloquium on Climate Change Response Technology from December 20 to 21, 2016, which was held at GIST.
 
□ This colloquium was held to establish the desirable direction of science and technology from the viewpoint of scientific and technological experts ▲ to discover promising technologies for the future of the Republic of Korea in the next 10 years ▲ to establish technological strategies ▲ to develop comprehensive plans and policies for overall science and technology .
 
  ∘ Experts attending the colloquium focused on domestic water problems, future prospects, technology development and industrialization, responses to climate change, adaptation measures, and prospective technological candidates.
 
  ∘ Dr. Jin-Seok Seo of Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) attended as an invited speaker and said, "In order for the water sector to adapt to climate change, it is imperative to secure a stable water supply and to make advances in the development of water management science and technology, which is necessary for the fourth industrial revolution era as well as the water industry."
 
□ Director Joon Ha Kim said, "This colloquium will be able to cope with various water issues preemptively as predictions about the future becomes more important than ever, especially with the arrival of the Fourth Industrial Revolution as well as the need to find solutions based on sound science and technology strategies to solve future issues. This colloquium was designed to provide solutions."
