Chief executive and managers of the Buk-gu district invited to GIST
Tour of GIST research facilities provided and luncheon meeting held
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology under the leadership of President Seung Hyeon Moon invited the chief executive and managers of the Gwangju Buk-gu district to discuss strategies to strengthen cooperation and regional development. The meeting was held at GIST on May 25, 2016.
A tour of research facilities at GIST, including the Advanced Photonics Research Institute of the Korea Culture Technology Institute, was provided to the delegation, which included Buk-gu Chief Executive Kwang-Woon Song and Local Administrator Kwan-Suk Hong.
Buk-gu Chief Executive Kwang-Woon Song said, "We will expand cooperation with GIST that will improve the infrastructure for regional development."
GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, "GIST has hosted this meeting with local district leaders to better inform them about the regional cooperation projects that GIST has undertaken, and I would like to develop more robust projects with the local government through open communication and more active exchanges. By doing this, we can maximize GIST"s positive impact on the regional economy."
