General meeting held for supporters of the "GIST Development Foundation"
The purpose of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is to develop science and technology in Korea through education and research. For those who wish to support this goal, the creation of the "GIST Development Foundation" is tentatively being prepared, and a general meeting to discuss this endeavor was held on April 7, 2016, at the 2nd Student Union building.
Twelve supporters of the "GIST Development Fund" attended the meeting to discuss articles of incorporation, to elect officials, to prepare a proposal and budget, and to organize and agenda. Supporters included GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon, Jung Ju Ko of Na Young Industries LTD, Bo Gon Kim of DK Industrial Co. LTD, Gi Soo Na of Hankook Co. LTD, and others.
The "GIST Development Foundation" will be launched in June 2016 after obtaining the necessary approvals and certifications from the relevant government agencies.
