GIST drones perform over the Gwangju sky!
On the eve of the opening ceremony at the Asian Culture Complex (Guemnamno) on September 3, 2015, a team of GIST students from the School of Mechatronics led by Professor Hyo Sung Ahn demonstrated the acrobatic abilities of their flying drones over the Asian Culture Complex. The team used 12 drones outfitted with LED lights to mimic fireflies and used them to perform an aerial dance routine that lasted for more than seven minutes.
The team collaborated the with the show"s media artist, Sang Hwa Park. The aerial performance of the drones were received with great enthusiasm from the crowd for the seamless integration of art and science.
