GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon
receives the Management Award from TV-Chosun
On July 22, 2015, GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon was honored when he received the True Education Management Award on the “TV-Chosun 2015 the Management Awards” program that was hosted by TV-Chosun and sponsored by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, the Ministry of Agriculture, and Food and the Rural Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy.
TV-Chosun said, “GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon has greatly contributed to Gwangju and to the Jeonnam region with his passionate support and effort to use GIST"s R&D expertise in science and technology to help build strong business networks and partnerships among new start-ups as and established companies. Moreover, President Moon"s selection for the award was also based on GIST"s excellent global research reputation by being ranked number 1 in Korea and number 3 in Asia in ‘number of papers per faculty’ for 2015 Chosun Ilbo-QS Asian university rankings.”
Candidates for the TV-Chosun Management Award were nominated through online and offline forums from May 6 through June 26, and 41 nominees were selected by a panel composed of various civic groups, businesses, and universities.
