GIST’s Life Aging Fusion Research Center (Director/Prof. Jang-soo Chun, School of Life Sciences) held the Achievement Presentation for the Silver Health Biotechnology Development Project for the first half of 2015 on June 23, 2015, at the central library.

The purpose of the Silver Health Biotechnology Development Project is to understand the cause of aging and related diseases by taking advantage of animal models with the goal controlling the aging process through the development of new drugs and treatments.

The School of Life Sciences Prof. Youngsoo Jun (Journal of Cell Biology), Prof. Haihong Shen (PNAS), Prof. Jang-soo Chun (PNAS), and Prof. Sung-Gyoo Park (Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology) gave presentations on their soon to be published research achievements. The School of Life Sciences Prof. Chul-Seung Park, Prof. Mi-Ryoung Song, Prof. Darren Williams, The Department of Medical System Engineering Prof. So-Hee Kim, Prof. Jaeyoung Lee (School of Material Science Engineering), Prof. Sung Chan Jun (School of Information and Communication, and Prof. Hohjai Lee (Department of Chemistry) also presented their ongoing research.

Prof. Jang-soo Chun, Director of the Life Aging Fusion Research Center, said, “Silver health biotechnology development has helped ease the transition of a rapidly aging society by establishing relevant applied research at the national level. Based on the successful research achievements for the first half of this year, we will strive to generate outstanding new research results that will garner more international attention next year.”
