Professor Do-Kyeong Ko of the Department of Physics and Photon Science made a donation of 1 million won to GIST Development Fund.

Professor Ko won a Faculty Contribution and Service Award at the 21st GIST Foundation Day Ceremony held on November 14, 2014, in recognition of his activities for the region of Gwangju City and Jeonnam Province. The award came with a prize of 1 million won, which Professor Ko donated in full to the GIST Development Fund.

Professor Ko joined GIST faculty in 2003 and has been directing Laboratory for Ultrafast Nonlinear Optics. His research interests include ultrashort, ultrahigh power laser, Laguerre-Gaussian beam and Bessel beam, ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy, and optic device manufacturing.
