KCTI Signs MOU with Cultural Heritage Administration

On June 12, Korea Culture Technology Institute (Director: Jung, Jin Hong) signed an MOU with Cultural Heritage Administration (Administrator: Rha, Sun-hwa) for facilitating convergence between tangible & intangible traditional cultural heritages and science & technology.

 

 

The purpose of the MOU is that the two institutions will work together to promote the preservation, utilization, and research of cultural values of the past, present and future, and disseminate various tangible & intangible cultural values and capabilities created therefrom across all sectors in our society, thereby contributing to the realization of cultural prosperity and creative economy.

 

To that end, both parties will jointly carry out the Seowon Renaissance Project to promote Seowon (traditional Korean academy) as a center of efforts to preserve and disseminate the values of spiritual cultural heritages based on tradition and life, a project to cultivate master craftsmen and intangible cultural heritages into global brands so as to spread Korean culture across the world, research on the digitized restoration and utilization of major cultural heritages for the permanent inheritance and development of key cultural assets, cooperation to digitize major Korean cultural heritages kept in store outside Korea and their digital exhibition, and ODA (Official Development Aid) cooperation on the digitization of key cultural heritages of foreign countries.
