GIST National Science & Technology Council Launched July 8

10 Private Members including GIST President Young Joon Kim appointed

 

 

 

 

 

Young Joon Kim, the president of GIST joined the new science and technology control tower as a private member.

 

As the National Science & Technology Council took office last 8th, the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning granted the letter of appointment to 10 private members of the council including president Kim.

 

The National Science & Technology Council is newly launched with review and deliberation functionality enhanced from the previous (National Science & Technology) Council. The planning · coordination function of the National Science & Technology Council was handed over to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning while the council will take charges in policy review. The position of council chairman has been upgraded up to the level of Prime Minister, from the previous level of the Minister and 13 ministers including the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning will join as council members.

 

The below is the list of private members appointed this time.

 

1. Young Joon Kim, President of GIST

2. Jin Hyung Kim, Professor at the department of Computer Science at KAIST

3. Dong Man Ahn, Professor at the department of Avionics (Aviation & Electronics) at Hanseo University 

4. Soon Shin, Ahn, Professor at the department of Electrical Engineering at Korea University

5. Wook Jun You, Dean of Graduate School of Medical Science & Engineering at KAIST

6. Christopher Koo, Chairman of LS Holdings

7. Jong Guk Song, President of the Science & Technology Policy Institute

8. Gyu Young Song, Professor at University Ulsan Collage of Medicine

9. Chul Joo Hwang, CEO of Jusung Engineering 

10. Yong Hyeon Shin, President of the Association of Korean Women Scientists & Engineers
