Poongsan Group Chairman Ryu, Jin’s special lecture at GIST

   Ryu, Jin (aged 55), Chairman of Poongsan Group, which has spearheaded the growth of Korea’s copper processing industry and defense industry, visited Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President   Young Joon Kim) for a special lecture on global leadership to both students and citizens.

   GIST, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is planning various programs to celebrate GIST’s 20th to promote communication and cooperation with the local community and citizens of Gwangju. Chairman Ryu’s special lecture alongside other prominent figures invited for a special lecture at GIST has been prepared as part of such programs.

   Chairman Ryu made a tour of Research Institute for Solar and Sustainable Energies  (Director: Lee, Kwang Hee) and Advanced Photonics Research Institute (Director: Lee, In won), both of which are the leading research institutes at GIST, before he gave an hour-long special lecture at Oryong Hall from 14:00, which also included a Q&A session.
