The increase in the "black carbon" strengthens typhoons

-The power of Arabian Sea tropical cyclones triples compared to the three decades   ago

-The research team of America"s Virginia Tech and GIST Professor Chul Chung, published in Nature


The joint research team of America"s Virginia Tech professor Amato Evan and GIST Environmental Engineering Professor Chul Chung published the research findings in the November third issue of Nature (Highlight) that the increase in black carbon emitted in India intensifies the strength of "cyclones" such as typhoons.

Professor Chung added, "as it is confirmed that black carbon has significant impact on the climate as well as on our health, we need to make efforts to reduce the emissions of black carbon."
