Dept. of Medical System Engineering

DMSE is based on principle of Application-Oriented Education, and has a vision of pioneering medical diagnosis and therapeutic technology through novel combination of multidisciplinary research program. The research laboratories have instruments such as various imaging modalities including small animal PET/CT, facilities for micro medical devices as well as other facilities related to mechanical and electrical engineering. The faculty search committee in the DMSE at GIST invites successful applicants with expertise in medical system or biomedical engineering for tenure-track faculty positions.

 

We highly encourage scholars with M.D./Ph.D. of any fields and/or research/clinical experiences in hospital.

We invite applicants with special interests in the following fields:

- Biomedical imaging (PET-CT, Imaging probe

  etc.)

- Medical rehabilitation (Motor, Sensory,

  Respiratory etc.)

- Bioengineering (Synthetic biology,

  Mechanobiology, Stem cell engineering etc.)

- Medical system engineering related field

 

 

What is GIST?

GIST was established by the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 1993.

As a research-oriented graduate & undergraduate school with superb laboratories, research centers and facilities, GIST allocates a minimum teaching load so that faculty members can devote themselves to research activities. GIST is proud of the following records:

- Nation"s highest number of papers published in SCI journals during the recent 9 consecutive years.

- The 7th in the world in citations per faculty member (QS World University Rankings 2012)

In addition, most of the faculty members and students participate in the government-funded "Brain Korea 21" program.

 

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in a pertinent field at the time of application and should be able to deliver their lectures in English. Qualified international or female scholars are encouraged to apply.
