Alumni from Professor Kiseon Kim"s lab
donate 10 million won to GIST"s Development Fund

□ 50 alumni who graduated from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) donated 10 million won to the GIST Development Fund in order to strengthen a donation previously made by their professor.
∘ 51 students of GIST Professor Kiseon Kim of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, including Dr. Chiho Lee (currently a researcher with the National Defense Science Institute), participated in the "GIST Hall of Fame Ceremony" held on December 14, 2016, to donate 10 million won to the GIST Development Fund.
□ The alumnus who had received a master"s degree from Professor Kim"s Communications and Sensor Network Laboratory said, "I would like to thank the professor who made a scholarship donation to the GIST Development Fund to benefit his students by making this donation to support his students."
∘ Professor Kim made a donation of 100 million won for the GIST Development Fund in August 2016. The fund will be used as a scholarship for students in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which is named the Kiseon Kim Scholarship next year, and the new donation of 10 million won will be added to the Kiseon Kim Scholarship.
Alumni donors: Oh Eun Jeong, Seung Keun Lee, Young Kyu Lee, Jeong Rok Koo, Lee Chiho, Choi Sungsoo, Hwang Un Chul, Yoo Jae Chun, Moon Young Jin, Shin Seok Ju Kim Youngsun Choi, This study was carried out to investigate the effect of the concentration of the antioxidants on the antioxidant activity of Jung, Byung Joo, Yoo Sang Jo, Jeong Hyo Young, Kim Yong Hoon, Dong Hyun Kim, and Woo Woo Jeon.
□ The GIST Development Foundation also held the "GIST Hall of Fame Ceremony" event where sponsors who contributed the Development Fund for the institute"s development were invited to the campus, and the sponsor"s name was placed in the Hall of Fame.
∘ On the wall of the GIST Hall of Fame, which was built on the first floor of the administrative building in August 2016, a bookshelf was constructed where a book engraved with a person"s or company"s name is placed if they contribute more than specific amount to the GIST Development Fund.
∘ Currently, GIST is established in the Hall of Fame (1993). In addition to the LG Group, which donated the library building fund, the Samsung Group, the Kumho Research Center, and the Kumho Group donated the Kumho Pavilion together with the Haedong Cultural Foundation, The names of major donors such as Poongsan, Na Young Industrial Co., Ltd., Top Infrastructure Co., Ltd., Kumho Housing Co., Ltd.
□ The ceremony was held with the participation of 50 members of the development fund, including GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon and Professor Kiseon Kim among others.
□ GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, "The ceremony for the Hall of Fame is an event to express our gratitude and to honor the contributions of donors who have supported GIST in its development as a national science and technology research center devoted to training outstanding science and engineering personnel. I will do my best to help GIST continue to serve and contribute to the nation and the community by expanding our foundation and the Development Fund."
