"I am proud to be a GIST freshman!"
With 200 students participating in the College Camp, they will receive lectures
covering English, mental health management, laboratory safety guidelines,
and the structure and organization of GIST college courses.
To help these students better prepare for the rigorous academic challenges offered at GIST, the College Camp provides the new students with an introduction to college life. The two-week intensive preparation offered by the College Camp includes classes to help students improve their English language skills, develop traits to become better students and scientists, and manage their lives and health as an active member of Korea"s very first residential liberal arts science college.
GIST College Dean Do-Kyeong Ko, "GIST has created new programs to assist students with a smooth transition into their first semester."
GIST freshman Joon-Hee Ko who attended a local high school in Gwangju said: "I am very excited to experience university life during GIST"s College Camp even before I have officially graduated from high school. This makes me very optimistic about studying at GIST because I think the environment here will give me the best opportunity to study science and to perhaps even one day win the Nobel Prize."
The College Camp officially ends on February 25, 2016.
