Professor Heechul Choi appointed as an Associate Editor
for the British Journal RSC Advances
GIST School of Environmental Science and Engineering Professor Heechul Choi (53) was appointed as an associate editor to the Royal Society of Chemistry"s RSC Advances, an international peer-reviewed science journal.
RSC Advances has been published since 2011 and covers chemistry and chemical engineering as well as a variety of fusion research. The journal has recently gained a reputation as being a prominent journal after earning impact factor of 3.840 in 2014.
As an associate editor, Professor Choi will examine about 150 papers per year and, by doing so, will contribute to the future direction of scientific development by helping to select important papers for publication.
Professor Choi is a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) and was awarded the “Creative Science Grand Prize” from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning during the ‘2014 Future Research Information Forum’ hosted by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI).
In May of this year, professor Choi received the Presidential Citation for his contribution to the national industrial development through the Korea Invention Promotion in commemoration of the 50th Invention Day. He has pioneered advances in environmental nanotechnology and has worked to develop clean water processing technology.
