KEPCO’s Nuclear Export Director Hee-Yong Lee
gives a special lecture to GIST students
GIST hosted a guest lecture from the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), a nuclear export director Hee-Yong Lee at the Mechatronics Engineering building on June 1st.
Director Hee-Yong Lee"s lecture topic was ‘UAE nuclear power plants: A flame of the Middle East starts from Baraka,’ and it was give to about 100 students. The lecture provided an overview and specifications as well as the construction status of the UAE nuclear power plants. Director Lee also discussed the workforce exchange programs between Korea and UAE.
It has been six years since the Emirates Nuclear Corporation (ENEC) ordered four nuclear power plants from KEPCO in December of 2009. KEPCO is the prime contractor with design, production, construction, and operational support provided by Korean companies. The Korean nuclear power plant APR1400 (5600MW) are to be constructed in the Baraka region of Abu Dhabi.
