GIST supports Gwangju-Jeonnam Small Businesses with Innovative Technologies
On May 13, 2015, GIST signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch SME Technology Innovation Organization (INNOBIZ Association) for mutual cooperation to train and develop Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
More than 20 representatives from SMEs attended the event, including GIST President Seunghyun Moon, Gwangju-Jeonnam branch chairman Gi-Soo Na, MS-Construction Co. CEO Hae-Myung Kim.
Under the terms of the MoU, both organizations will be sharing information technology and professional exchanges, providing technical guidance and business consulting support, engaging in joint R&D and technology commercialization of intellectual property, and benefiting from mutual joint use of facilities and R&D equipment.
GIST President Seunghyun Moon said, “Based on the excellent results of research, it is essential to provide innovation technologies to regional SMEs for them to have greater global competitiveness. For the benefit of our regional economy and Korea"s industrial development, we will contribute GIST’s science and technology R&D know-how to where it is needed."
Gwangju-Jeonnam branch chairman Gi-Soo Na said, “The expectations from local SMEs are high because of GIST’s world-class research and technology development capabilities. We will encourage the two organizations to communicate more to exchange technical needs.”
