Three-Party MOU Signed on Nov 5 at GIST
To Follow Up on Multi AP Controller Developed Earlier
GIST (Acting President: Kwan Heng Lee), DASAN Networks, Inc. (CEO: Minwoo Nam), and KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, President: Hahn Sun-Hwa) signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday, November 5, at GIST to join forces in developing a wireless network security system.

The three parties have agreed to cooperate on developing and commercializing a wireless network security infrastructure model. DASAN Networks will develop a wireless network security system and build test products. GIST will test operate the system on campus to validate its effectiveness and provide feedback for successful commercialization. KISTI will collect opinions from government agencies and other field users and review technological specifications.
The Korean wireless network security system market is currently dominated by imported products with a combined market share of 76%. The market volume is expected to grow up to 500 billion won a year.
Earlier in June this year, DASAN Networks succeeded in developing the Multi AP Controller, a wireless network device, with technological consultations and specifications provided by GIST and KISTI. It is considered a successful case of industrial academic cooperation and is expected to contribute to replacing imported products.
