GIST hosted its 2016 academic year graduation ceremony
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) hosts its 2016 academic year graduation ceremony on February 24, 2017, at Oryong Hall. For the 2016 academic year, a total of 284 degrees were conferred, including 61 doctoral degrees, 172 masters degrees, and 65 bachelors degrees.
The graduation ceremony was attended by more than 1,000 people, including Deputy Director Jin-ki Nam of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the National Assembly member Kyung-jin Kim of the National People's Congress.

gave the commencement address to the graduation class of 2016.
In particular, GIST alumnus Kwang-myung Kim was named a top 1% researcher as selected by Thomson Reuters for the third consecutive year, and he was very pleased to his congratulations to GIST's most recent alumni.
GIST has conferred the highest number of degree to graduates since its establishment at this year's graduation ceremony. In particular, 61 of the graduates received an average of 6 SCI-ranked papers, among which some students wrote a maximum of 22 papers.
