GIST Global Desalination Research Center receives accreditation
from the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS)
GIST Global Desalination Research Center (GDRC) recently received accreditation from Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS), which is a certification body providing laboratory accreditation in the following areas: calibration, testing, inspection, reference materials, medical testing, and proficiency testing in accordance with the international provisions of ISO/IEC 17011.
Evaluations are performed by certified specialists on the quality of the systems and on the technical competence of the laboratory. KOLAS has been operating a system that evaluates the ability of laboratories to test in a specific field and have the results officially recognized. Through this accreditation, GIST GDRC can now issue a report on 10 standard tests of drinking water quality process and 10 standard tests of the marine environmental process.
GDRC Director In Su Kim said, “This accreditation will enable us to provide a more reliable test results and play a pivotal role in setting the level of technical development by offering reliable analysis in related research areas.”
