GIST Entrepreneurship Promotion Center
holds intensive two-day IoT workshop
The Entrepreneurship Workshop at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST • President Seung Hyeon Moon) held an intensive two-day workshop about the Internet of Things (IoT) from August 18 to 19, 2016, for 15 students.
The workshop taught the students how to build a sensor module with Arduino, which is an open-source micro-controller. The students gained valuable hands-on experience learning how to take an idea through various conceptual iterations to actually programming the final sensor to act as intended. Through this process, the students also learned about the advantages of using open-source resources.
Director Seung-geun Ki of the GIST Entrepreneurship Promotion Center said, "We will continue to develop a variety of hands-on educational programs to help students understand how to create new ideas that can become the basis for new entrepreneurial start-ups in the future."
