Director of research Heung-No Lee contributed 4.1 million won
to the GIST development fund
Director of research Heung-No Lee, a professor in the School of Information and Communications professor, contributed 4.1 million won to the GIST development fund that was received as part of a technology transfer payment. Director Lee signed a technology transfer agreement with the optical device development company P-Cube Inc. and Ytel Photonics Inc., which was related to the ‘development of small high-resolution spectrograph module technology’ last May.
Director Lee said, “I decided to contribute some of the spectrograph resolution enhancement technology transfer proceeds that we received to the school"s development fund.”
In 2013, director Lee’s research team published a paper called ‘Random transmission filter for the improvement of the resolution filter array based spectrograph’ in the Virtual Journal for Biomedical Optics. He was appointed to the GIST’s School of Information and Communications in 2009 and opened the Information Processing, Controlling and Network Research Center (INFONET). It was selected as a National Research Laboratory in 2010. INFONET conducts research on information theory, channel coding, and compression sensing. They apply the results of their research to wireless sensor networks, military communication security, underwater communication, ultrasound imaging, spectrograph, microscopy, and Brain-computer interface systems.
