the 2015 US-Korea Conference and visited Caltech

GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon attended the 2015 US-Korea Conference (UKC) held in Atlanta, Georgia, from July 29 to August 1. The conference focused on science, technology, and entrepreneurship. The conference was sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning and was co-hosted by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology and the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association.
During the conference, GIST organized a “GIST Forum” on chemical biology. Professor Kwang Hoon Lim (East Carolina University) served as a moderator, and professors Ki Bum Lee (Rutgers) and Jung Hyun Min (Illinois State University) attended as invited speakers.
Caltech President Thomas Rosenbaum and GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon
GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon then visited the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) on August 3, 2015, and met with Caltech President Thomas F. Rosenbaum to discuss future cooperation. President Moon also met with GIST students who are currently participating in the summer undergraduate research fellowship (SURF) program at Caltech well as with GIST College graduates who are now graduate students at Caltech. President Moon met with those students to learn how they are doing at Caltech as well as to encourage them to do their best.
