GIST is holding a series of graduate admissions seminars for those interested in applying for entrance in the fall 2015 semester. The first seminar is held on Friday, March 27 in Seoul, and the last one on Friday, April 24 in Oryong Hall on GIST campus, followed by an Open Lab.

The admissions seminars will cover such topics as a school overview, scholarships and benefits, and notes on application procedure. In addition, graduate students currently attending GIST will give tips on how to prepare for the interview and sharesome honest thoughts on campus life.
In the fall 2015 admissions, new graduate students in the Ph.D., M.S., and Integrated M.S.-Ph.D. programs are selected in 8 enrollment units: School of Information and Communications, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Mechatronics, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of Life Sciences, Department of Physics and Photon Science, Department of Chemistry, and Department of Medical System Engineering. Applications are accepted from Tuesday, April 28 through Tuesday, May 12.
To nurture future researchers in science and technology, GIST provides its graduate students with a variety of benefits. GIST graduate students are exempted from payments and support associationfees throughout their enrollment and also receive stipends, meal subsidies, and individual research incentives every month. Students with outstanding entrance marks are awarded a Presidential Scholarship worth 3 million won per semester. Double occupancy dormitory rooms are provided to ensure a stable living environment conducive to concentrated study, and male students entering a Ph.D. or Integrated M.S.-Ph.D. program are enlisted as special research personnel, who can complete their military service by just finishing their course of study.
Founded 22 years ago, GIST has been strengthening its core competence as a research-oriented university by employing a Select and Focus strategy. As a result, GIST was ranked No. 4 in the world in citations per faculty by QS World University Rankings 2014.
International students from 23 countries around the world account for about 10% of current students at GIST Graduate School, where a tradition of 100% English lectures has taken a firm root ever since its foundation. Also, GIST Graduate School’s student to faculty ratio stands at 10 to 1, comparable to those of world leading universities such as Caltech and MIT.
