A multimedia mosaic of moments at GIST
Professor Dong-Seon Lee of GIST School of Information and Communications donated 1 million won to GIST Development Fund.
The donation was made from part of the technology transfer income from a five-year agreement he signed with Sundiode Korea Inc. in October 2014 on the transfer of technologies related to multi-junction LEDs. “It is a small amount, but I wanted to be of help to the development of our school,” said Professor Lee.
Professor Lee’s research team published a paper titled “A self-assembled Ag nanoparticle agglomeration process on graphene for enhanced light output in GaN-based LEDs” in Nanotechnologyin May 2012, which was selected among the journal’s Highlights of 2012. He also received an award in November 2014 from the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) for excellence in campus patent strategy.
Since arriving in GIST School of Information and Communications in 2008, Professor Lee has led the Solid-State Lighting Lab (SSLL). His research interests include nano-fabrication of light-emitting devices, highly bright and highly efficient light emitting devices, and optical properties and device applications of nonpolar/semipolar nitride materials.
