MOU Signed for Promotion of Joint Research and Personnel Exchanges
The Research Institute for Solar and Sustainable Energies (RISE; Director – Kwanghee Lee) of GIST held a joint international symposium on plastic electronics with the Center for Plastic Electronics (CPE; Director Donal Bradley) of Imperial College London (ICL) of the UK on December 11.
A world-leading institution in science and technology and sometimes dubbed “the MIT of the UK,” ICL was ranked No. 2 overall in the QS World University Rankings 2014. The CPE was established in 2009 and currently has more than 200 researchers.
RISE of GIST and CPE of ICL held the joint symposium to build a global research network in plastic electronics, which is a rapidly growing platform technology with wide applications in new materials, sustainable energies, flexible displays and wearable devices.
Speakers at the symposium included Director Donal Bradley and Professors Ji-seon Kim, Paul Stavrinou, and Martin Heeney of CPE and Director Kwanghee Lee and Professors Dong-Yu Kim, Sukwon Hong, and Myung-Han Yoon of RISE.
RISE and CPE also signed a memorandum of understanding for promoting joint research and personnel exchanges on December 12.
