The new fundraising campaign for the GIST Development Fund, “Show Your Love for GIST, Give a Bike,” received pledges totaling 23,670,000 won in its first month, Sep 1 – 30.

In particular, a number of faculty and staff having to do with GIST College made donations to the program. Included in the list of contributors were Professors Chi-Ok Hwang, Lee Soo-Jong, and Michael Ye of Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Administrators Kim Jee Hoon and Park Joo Young, who used to be staff members at GIST College. Professor Kim Sung-Ho, who recently moved from GIST College to Ewha Womans University, also made a donation.

A large-amount pledge of 10 million won was also received. Professor Jang-Soo Chun of School of Life Sciences made the pledge in celebration of his recent winning of the Kyung-Ahm Academic Prize. “I wanted to do something for GIST and the students, since they have made it possible for me to achieve good research results,” Professor Chun said.

GIST Development Fund is planning more PR activities communicating with the students, parents, alumni, and companies for the success of the new fundraising campaign and the spread of the giving spirit in the GIST community.
