(Starting ceremony for “2nd team of e-mentors composed of GIST Graduate School students” held at the Main Conference Room of Administration Building on March 25th)

□ Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President ž Young Joon Kim) held starting ceremony for “e-mentors” in charge of promoting the school at the Main Conference Room (on the 2nd Floor of Administration Building) on the afternoon of March 25th.

○ The GIST formed e-mentors last year to attract more talented students to GIST Graduate School and e-mentors are composed of GIST Graduate School students. They frankly provide useful and specific information to applicants for GIST Graduate School from their perspective such as personal experience of graduate and doctoral students with admission procedures, reason why they choose the GIST, and merits and demerits of the graduate school.

□ To participate in the 2nd team of e-mentors, graduate students from about 120 research laboratories at the GIST Graduate School should get recommendation form their academic advisers. The names and e-mail addresses of the e-mentors are posted on the website of the GIST. Anyone who has interest in application for GIST Graduate School can contact with e-mentors and obtain advice from them via e-mail. (Find your e-mentors at http://www.gist.ac.kr/sub03/03_24.html)

○ E-mentors are expected to provide consulting to possible applicants and introduce them to research laboratories and to take part in various promotional events related to admission to the graduate school held in and out of the GIST such as working as supporters at small briefing sessions on its admission requirements.
