A multimedia mosaic of moments at GIST
RISE held a special lecture by Advanced Materials’ deputy editor On November 4th, Dr. Lorna Stimson, the deputy editor of Advanced Materials, gave a special lecture on the theme of “Publishing in Materials Science-How to maximize your success” at GSIT. Advanced Materials is one of the most accredited academic journals in the field of new materials and chemical. The lecture took place at the auditorium of Advanced Photonics Research Institute of GIST. Dr. Stimson explained the entire process of paper evaluation by Advanced Materials and its sister journals and delivered detailed and practical information useful to getting a paper published by them. More than 150 students and professors attended the session. Prior to the lecture, Dr. Stimson visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering, together with Prof. Kim Dong Yu (Head of the School of Materials Science and Engineering) and Director Lee Kwang Hee of Research Institute for Solar and Sustainable Energies, she toured the exhibit of GIST researchers’ papers published as cover paper by Advanced Materials. Previously, Dr. Stimson joined the material science editor team of Germany’s Wiley-VCH in 2007 and then worked as the vice editor of Advanced Healthcare Materials. She has served as the vice editor of Advanced Materials since December last year. Dr. Stimson made a visit to Korea as part of her tour to Asian countries in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Advanced Materials.
