Professors and Students of Tongji University Visited GIST
Professors and students of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University visited Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Young Joon Kim) on August 20th (February). GIST and Tongji University are involved in increased academic exchange.
Established in 1907, Tongji University has more than 35,000 students and 2,000 staff members and specializes in science and engineering.
Visitors from Tongji University consisted of four professors and 27 students. They heard lectures of Kim, Kyung Woong (Deab of the Office of International and Public Affairs) and Lee, Yoon Ho (Professor of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering) at Seminar Room of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, and enjoyed a small sports event with the School’s students to promote friendship.
The College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University is interested in academic exchange with South Korea and, as a means for the exchange, hosting a program to send visitors to South Korea in every summer. This year’s visit to GIST is one of annual visit programs and is a special one.
