On July 16, GIST College (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, President   Young Joon Kim) invited 126 students (sophomores & seniors) and 20 teachers of Changwon Science High School to its campus and provided a variety of programs for science prodigy such as briefing session on admission to GIST, career coaching and career search.

At the session on GIST admission, the students were briefed on overall information related to admission to GIST, ranging from introduction of GIST to scholarship and admission procedures, and made a tour to major facilities and labs around the campus. In particular, the “GIST Quiz” program prepared by GIST College students was a useful opportunity for them to learn about GIST and common knowledge on science.

This year, GIST College will increase the number of freshmen to recruit from previously 110 to 170 students. 150 will be admitted through school-specific evaluation procedures and the remaining 20 through standard evaluation procedures.

Application for school-specific admission procedures should be submitted between September 4~11. After paper screening and interviews in October, final passers will be decided in November. Standard admission procedures will kick off in December (after the College Scholastic Ability Test on Nov. 7^th) till mid January next year.
