GIST Opens Counseling and Career Development Center for Students
“Feel free to visit. We’ll always be with you”
- GIST starts the operation of the counseling and career development center for its students on June 3.
- The center specializes in psychological testing and counseling and career and job counseling. It plans to provide a group counseling next month.
Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Young Joon Kim) established a specialized organization to offer psychological testing and counseling to its students and assist them with job placement.
On June 3, GIST held an opening ceremony of GIST Counseling and Career Development Center (CCDC) in Dasan Building with about 20 people present including President and student representatives.
Previously, psychological testing and counseling and employment-related information were provided separately by different organizations at GIST College.
As CCDC is in charge of the abovementioned counseling services, college students can get a more systematic and effective support for the psychological and employment-related affairs. At CCDC, Chief Counselor Cho, Sung Eun and Counselor Won, Hee Jung will lead counseling programs and provide job placement guidance to students; they already proved their qualification for the last one year while they were offering counseling services at GIST College. In July, CCDC will provide its first group counseling for Korean students in terms of interpersonal relationship.
