A multimedia mosaic of moments at GIST
Vice President Lee Kwan Heng is appointed as a member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea - Conducted researches in the field of CAD/CAM and contributed to the establishment of gifted and talented education system for natural sciences and engineering Professor Lee Kwan Heng (age 60) of the School of Mechatronics at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST President Young Joon Kim) was appointed as a candidate member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. After working as a dean of GIST College, he is currently the Vice President of GIST as well as the head of graduate school. Professor received a doctor’s degree at the University of North Carolina. During the past twenty years, he has worked in education and conducted researches in the field of CAD/CAM (computer-aided device/ computer-aided manufacturing) that can shorten the production development period and contribute to quality improvement in the manufacturing sector. The National Academy of Engineering of Korea is a special corporation established to find talented engineers and technicians who made outstanding achievements for the development of engineering and technology, including the academia, industry, national institutions, etc., as well as promoting continued development in the field of engineering and technology.
