President Kim Young Joon of GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology) attended the 5 Universities of Science and Technology forum on September 18, 20120, and said “There must be more regular jobs such as lab managers, teaching assistants, research fellows etc. in each university, and reduce participatory researcher type irregular jobs, so that excellent talents of the science and technology sector could concentrate on creative R&D activities”.

   At the round-table talks held under the title ‘Korea’s 5 Universities of Science and Technology go for nobel prize’, presidents of 5 Universities of Science and Technology including president Kim of GIST, Seo Nam Pyo (KAIST), Kim Yong Mon (Postec), Shin Seong Cheol (DIST), Cho Mu Jei (YUNIST) attended, and science journalist of JoongAngIlbo Mr. Park Bang Ju was the MC.

   Regarding strengthening education in Science and Technology universities, president Kim suggested that we should raise talents who have ‘3C1P’ in order to facilitate university education. President Kim said “we must establish a new paradigm for the science and technology universities for developing Creativity, Cooperation, Communication, and Problem Creating & Solving capabilities”, and also “We must advance education of the humanities and social fields as well in order to produce science and technology leaders having warm compassion at the same time”.
