“Check out GIST students’ abilities and talents on TV!” Undergraduates of GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, President Kim Young-Joon) are going to appear on a TV program, “Rival Quiz show,” to be aired on TV Chosun at 10 am on October 6th (Sat.). You can find out how great problem-solvers GIST students make and also their hidden talents on TV Chosun at 10 am on October 6th (Sat.).
Five contenders from GIST - Choi Joon-Hee, Ki Han-Kil(juniors), Seo Ji-Eun, Chae Sung-Ho(sophomore) and Park Jin-Ho(freshman) - have taken part in the program’s preliminaries and finals filmed at Digital Magic Space in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on September 19th. Previously, they were selected among 100 candidates at GIST through its internal qualification rounds and have ever since prepared for the quiz show.
“Rival Quiz Show“ started from an idea of helping to ease tuition burdens on university students and three teams of five university students compete in each episode. Unlike other quiz shows which are basically about team vs. team competitions, “Rival Quiz Show” has five members of each team take their turns to come up on the stage and accumulate prize money through primaries (3 rounds) and finals (10 rounds). For instance, a team member who makes it to the finals and gets all of ten questions right can make up to KRW 50 million in total prize money.
