7 GIST men, Selected as men of merit in Science Technology

 

 

Celebrating the 45th Science Day, seven people from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology(GIST, President: Jungho Sonu) were selected as men of merit in science technology.

 

Professor Seongju Park received an Order of Merit in Science Technology, professor Doyoung Noh received a Metal of Merit in Science Technology, professor Woojin Park received a Letter of Commendation by Prime Minister while professor Chulseung Park, professor Chulhan Song and ph.D Moonseok Jung received Letters of Commendation by Minister of Education, Science and Technology. Also, among staff members, senior administrator Ranyoung Cho received a Letter of Commendation by Minister of Education, Science and Technology.

 

Prof. Seongju Park received an Order of Merit by being recognized for his great contribution to the development of LED industry that is being highlighted as growth dynamics of next generation by developing original and various technologies of LED and transferring the technology to several corporations including Samsung LED.

 

Especially, he developed silicon quantum dot LED and electronic element for the first time in the world and showed research results of total 268 pieces of SCI papers, 76 cases of domestic patents and 13 cases of international patents.
