GIST, Take Actions against Resolve Drinking Water Shortage in Remote Areas Using Water Purifier with Nano Filtration
Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (President Sonu Jung-Ho) started to actively take actions against drinking water shortage in remote areas of African and East Asian countries whose people drink polluted water.
Environmental Science and Engineering of GIST, successfully developed the water purifying system with nano filtration in 2006, plans a "Project to give ongdalsam (small spring)" to effectively use related research and development technologies and resolve drinking water shortage.
Currently, 13 "ongdalsam water purifiers" are supplied to 10 areas including Aganggrial of Sudan, Mentawai of Indonesia, and Karonga of Malawi through Diocese of Suwon of Korea.
