Sign MOU for the establishment of “Bio IMAGING & Cell Dynamics Research Center”

BIC (Director Prof. Woo Keun Song) of GIST and SRC (Director, Prof. Jang-Soo Chun) signed MOU with Olympus (Techsan Community Co. Ltd) on 23rd for the establishment of BIO IMAGING & Cell Dynamics Research Center.
In the signing, Hun-Ghi Woo, CEO of Techsan Community, Seok-Hyun Jang, managing director, H.Watanabe of Japan’s Olympus in charge of microscope business and H.Kaneuchi sales manager participated.
Two institutes will forge ahead with mutual exchanges of technology and information in equipment operation by assigning one specialized personnel for at least two years to Techsan and visiting at least two times a month. Therefore, with the establishment of Bio imaging and Cell dynamics research center, they aim to 1) provide training and free C/S support with sophisticated equipment installed and supported, 2) pursue mutual cooperation so that the latest products of Japanese Olympus would be installed at the center and 3) make equipment operation most efficient.

BIC and SRC are working in basic and clinical medicine research through joint research projects by utilizing dynamic life phenomenon of cells and basic technology from BIC. They are also preparing cell imaging treatment technology and nano research technology.

BIC, SRC and Techsan will establish organic collaborative mechanism through this MOU and contribute to bio industry, treatment of incurable diseases and the welfare of the mankind.

 Director Song of BIC said that this is an opportunity for GIST and Techsan to have a win-win success for the 21th century bio industry. Director Chun of SRC also told that he expects the center to grow competitive and pursue dynamic research activities home and abroad.
