29 papers published in SCI journals, the largest number per person



 





Na Seok-In Ph.D in materials science and engineering.



 



“I’ve generated good results thanks to my adviser ( professor Kim Dong-Yu), who played as a good mentor and role model, my seniors and my fellows who helped me conduct experiments with fun and enthusiasm. “



This is what Dr. Na, Seok-In (age 32, materials science and engineering) said in a graduation ceremony of GIST held on February 17th who attracted much attention as a main author of 9 papers out of the 29 papers published in SCI journals during PhD course



Dr. Na carried out research on materials and element for low-cost, high-performance organic PV.



In the commencement, he was awarded a prize from the ministry of educational science and technology.



In addition, for an 8-semester period for Ph. D degree, he published his paper on low-cost and highly efficient organic photovoltaic cell on Advanced Materials and Advanced Functional Materials respectively, top scientific journal in materials science. His achievement also got high appraisal on media in terms of papers’ quality.



 



Furthermore, he was given lots of awards thanks to his paper and academic excellence. He was chosen as a great researcher and scholarship student of DASAN granted by GIST for 3 years from 2007 through 2009. Dr. Na was also awarded Best Poster Award from The Polymer Society of Korea in spring 2009.



 



Dr. Na commented that he was lucky enough to have met his wife at GIST and get married and added that thanks to his wife, he focused on his research. The average number of papers published by the 2009 graduates of GIST in SCI journals reached 6.9 papers per graduate.



 



Dr. Na explained that he was able to release 29 papers in SCI because of strong research enthusiasm and mindset among GIST researchers.



Dr. Na saying he wants to become a scientist who doesn’t get complacent and always learn and develop is working as Research Staff of KIST after graduation from GIST.
