<P align=left><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">Prof. Chul-Han Song , (45 years old, photo), professor in Environmental Science and Engineering at GIST(Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, President: Jung-Ho Sonu) has recently become the first Korean to be appointed as an editorial staff of ACP(Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics journal).<BR> <BR><BR>As the representative academic journal of EGU(European Geosciences Union), ACP is truly a top class academic journal which ranks one of top 2 every year in the field of atmospheric chemistry and physics journal.(impact factor, theses influence factor: 4.927, ranking: 2/52)<BR> <BR><BR>Especially, unlike other science journals where judging panels review the theses of the candidates before deciding to post in the journal, ACP has an additional verifying procedure called ACPD(Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Discussion), where researchers and scholars in the related field are asked to present their opinions about the subject thesis and also given chances to ask questions to the author, and thus it is very difficult to post a thesis in ACP. Nevertheless, professor Song submitted a number of theses to ACP for many years.<BR> <BR><BR>The fact that he has been appointed as an editorial staff is meaningful in that the passion and depth of his studies has been recognized by EGU.</SPAN> </SPAN></P><BR> <BR></SPAN></SPAN>
