GIST Artificial Intelligence Center hosts 2017 GIST Artificial Intelligence (AI) Forum

□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) hosted the 'GIST AI Forum' on December 15, 2017.

∘ The event was held with great interest with 10 presenters from leading universities and professional organizations around the world on the subject of artificial intelligence.

□ The GIST AI Center organized sessions on various topics related to artificial intelligence to broaden mutual understanding by sharing the research results of each institution and to examine various areas related to artificial intelligence technology innovation.

∘ This forum began with the keynote speech of Director Jin Hyung Kim of the Artificial Intelligence and Researck Institute (AIRI), "Preparing for the Artificial Intelligence Age", which covered 10 themes including video, language, music, and healthcare. The forum is a place to exchange information on artificial intelligence research results and exchange opinions on the future research direction of artificial intelligence research and development with eminent universities and research institutes from 5 countries, including Singapore.

□ Director Chang Wook Ahn sai, "For the second year of the GIST AI Forum, we invited eminent scholars from leading universities and institutions in Korea and abroad to sharing the latest technology trends and research achievements on AI related R & D that plays a pivotal role in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. This was also a meaningful event for us to take a step forward in researching artificial intelligence of GIST by providing a forum for exchanging opinions on future AI research directions."

□ The GIST AI Center plans to regularly host the GIST AI Forum every year to develop expertise for the development of artificial intelligence technology.
